Constable Eric Jelinski

Constable Jelinski, a Tactical Flight Officer and Paramedic, has made a profound impact in the northern Cree community of Stanley Mission. Previously, patients experiencing cardiac arrest and elders with serious injuries were transported in the back of pickup trucks, a practice that raised serious safety concerns. Refusing to accept this perilous situation, Eric took it upon himself to make a change.

Leveraging his experience and connections, he successfully acquired a retired ambulance for just $1, ensuring safer medical transport for the community. This initiative not only improved emergency response but also highlighted Eric's dedication to the well-being of those he serves.

“Eric brings his energy and effort to every call for service and every person he contacts,” said Chris Rhodes, President of the Saskatoon Police Association and SFPO VP (North). “His drive to address needs in a rural Saskatchewan community shows his dedication to serving people in and out of uniform across our province.”

In addition to the award, the SFPO donated $1,000 to a charity of Eric's choice, further demonstrating the organization's commitment to community support. Eric's actions resonate deeply with the core values of compassion, leadership, and community engagement, inspiring both his colleagues and community members alike.
