SFPO supports new Provincial Police Complaints Commission

The Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers (SFPO) is supportive of the new Provincial Police Complaints Commission introduced today by Justice Minister Quennell at the legislature.

“The Government included us as a partner when this new complaints process was developed, ” said Dave Haye, President of the SFPO. ” We hope that the new process will give confidence to the public that complaints against municipal police officers are taken seriously and are investigated properly.”

“We will monitor the Complaints Commission to ensure that investigations are done fairly and in a timely manner,” said Haye.

The SFPO represents over 1000 municipal police personnel in Saskatchewan.
